AtollCD: Decadence - Besser & Bravura

recorded live at the Raye Freedman Arts Centre, Auckland

This is a CD that came out of the blue. It’s happened directly as a result of a simple decision to record the band (with audience) live in concert. Recording direct from the sound desk to stereo in concert means there’s far less production and mastering options later. There is only one take of each piece and the mix is fi xed. But there’s also an indeterminate big plus, the audience’s energy, undivided concentration and enthusiasm that’s feeding back to the artists – it’s like nothing else.
