Amanda Hollins

Amanda Hollins studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Trevor Wye and with Robert Aitken at the Banff School of Fine Arts, Canada. While living in England she pursued a busy orchestral and solo career, working extensively as Guest Principal Flute with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the London Mozart Players, while being a member of the Kent Opera and Glyndebourne Touring Opera orchestras.

In 1985 she formed a duo partnership with Richard Mapp and the pair performed recitals throughout England until 1990.
Hollins has kept contact with her native New Zealand - for two years she was Principal Flute with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and she returns regularly for recital work and Radio New Zealand recordings.

Resident in Sydney since 1991, Hollins has appeared as Guest Principal Flute with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Since 1997 she has been Associate Principal Flute with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
