Ilya Rashkovskiy

Ilya was born in Irkutsk, Russia in 1984. He debuted with the Irkutsk Chamber Orchestra at the age of eight. He graduated from the Musikhoch- schule Hannover, where he studied with Prof. V. Krainev, and from the École Normale Supérieure Alfred Cortot in Paris, where he was a student of Prof. M. Rybicki.
Before being awarded the 1st Prize at the 8th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in 2012, Ilya was among top prize winners at International Piano Competitions such as M.Long-J.Thibaud in Paris, Queen Elisabeth in Brussels, A. Rubinstein in Tel Aviv and the First Hong Kong International Piano Competition.
Mr Rashkovskiy has collaborated with the Russian State Symphony, the Kiev National Philharmonic, the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Czech National Symphony and the New Japan Symphony. He is also active as a chamber musician and solo recitalist and has recorded several albums including Chopin Complete Etudes as
well as Scriabin Complete Piano Sonatas.

Since 2017 Ilya has been a guest professor at the Sungshin Woman’s University in Seoul. His recent highlights include concerto performances in Dresden under Valery Gergiev, with the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, at Suntory Hall with Tokyo Symphony, and recitals in Saint Petersburg, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Montevideo.
